Flavor Profile

The Rege Birtok Egri Bikavér Classicus 2021 is a classic expression of the most renowned blend of the Eger wine region, presenting the region’s character and traditions with modern winemaking precision. Made from carefully selected grapes, it was aged for 10 months in oak barrels, which gently and elegantly round out the wine.

On the nose and palate, notes of black cherry, blueberry, and dark chocolate dominate, complemented by deeper earthy nuances of mushroom and earthy notes. Barrel aging adds subtle spice and complexity while preserving the wine’s fruit-driven character.

This is a medium-bodied, well-balanced red wine, faithfully representing the classic style of the Egri Bikavér.

PRODUCER INFORMATION

Producer: Rege Birtok

Nestled on Kőporos Hill, one of the most iconic locations of the Eger Wine Region, Rege Estate offers a unique combination of outstanding wines, rich history, and breathtaking panoramic views. The estate is situated along the historic Kőporos Cellar Row, one of the region’s most renowned wine and gastronomic destinations, named after the stone dust once quarried here and traditionally used for cleaning household vessels.

The cellars and tunnels carved into limestone tuff, the rolling hills of Eger, and the estate’s modern yet authentic atmosphere create the distinctive character of REGE. Here, the rich winemaking heritage of the Eger Wine Region meets contemporary comfort and a fresh, experience-driven approach. Every bottle tells a story, and every visit creates a new one.

Rege Estate’s vineyards are spread across several prestigious vineyard sites within the wine region, where a diverse selection of white and red grape varieties is cultivated. This diversity allows REGE wines to capture both the traditions of the region and the vibrant character of modern winemaking, resulting in wines that are authentic, expressive, and easy to enjoy.
