Quiar Birtok was founded by Tamás Sipőcz, who established his winery in 2015 in a 400-year-old wine cellar belonging to the former archdiocese of Balatonfőkajár. His aim is to bring greater attention to this remarkable grape-growing area through organically farmed, traditional, hand-crafted wines.
The 2-hectare estate focuses on two of the region’s characteristic grape varieties, Kékfrankos and Welschriesling. Through these varieties, Tamás seeks to capture not only their distinctive varietal character but also the unique qualities of the vineyards, allowing the wines to express a clear sense of place.
