Flavor Profile
This historic cuvee leads with a very high proportion of Kadarka (65%) -- just like the original bikaver wines. The legendary Hungarian varietal is blended with Kékfrankos, Menoir, and Pinot Noir before being aged in 1000-liter oak barrels. The cherry-forward, slightly earthy character of the wine is complemented by fine tobacco aromas, making it one of the true gems of the Eger wine region.

PRODUCER INFORMATION
Producer: Csutorás Winery
After World War II, the family’s vineyards were affected by land redistribution and nationalization. Ferenc’s grandfather was later sentenced to prison in the 1960s in a politically motivated lawsuit. Following his release, he successfully sued the state, and in 1963 the family regained two acres of vineyards in the Pajdos vineyard. This small parcel remains the foundation of the family farm today.
Ferenc Csutorás’ wines are spontaneously fermented and aged in wooden barrels. Kadarka, a variety that has been characteristic of the area since before the phylloxera epidemic, remains his most important grape. The family’s vineyards also include Welschriesling, Királyleányka, Kékfrankos, and Menoir.
