Located in the hills of Valpolicella in Veneto, Northern Italy, Monte Faustino is the historic estate of the Fornaser family, who have been making wine here since the early 1900s. Today, the family cultivates 7.5 hectares across three vineyards: Traversagna, Costalunga, and Monte Faustino, the oldest of the family’s holdings and the vineyard that gives the winery its name.

The estate is particularly renowned for its traditional Valpolicella wines, with Amarone della Valpolicella at the heart of the range. The Fornasers work primarily with the region’s indigenous grape varieties, including Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella, which form the foundation of the area’s distinctive red wines. Their approach also embraces the traditional appassimento method, in which carefully selected grapes are dried before fermentation to produce the rich, concentrated character associated with Amarone and Recioto.

At Monte Faustino, generations of local knowledge are combined with modern cellar technology, while the family remains firmly rooted in the traditional character of Valpolicella. Alongside their Amarone, the estate produces classic Valpolicella wines as well as sweet, naturally rich passito styles, showcasing the versatility of the region’s native grapes.
